The Cost of Jetting off with Ryanair for a Golf Holiday Increases

by Stephen Keane, 12th December 2011

Ryanair has just announced that the cost to golfers and the broader community is just going to get that bit more expensive for some when it comes to flying off for a round of golf with them. On their site, red hot fares are touted but in a slew of price changes announced, the cost of taking on baggage fees and getting a boarding card has increased markedly.
Ryanair are introducing higher seasonal charges for checked in bags – high season being December 15th thru Christmas and then from June through to end of September. The higher seasonal charge will be £25 instead of £20 for a checked in 15kg bag – a whopping 25% increase in price. That cost will also apply during peak golf holiday flying times of June to the end of September.

So if you plan on flying to Ireland from the UK for a game of golf in Kerry or Dublin, make sure you do the following:
1) Print out your boarding pass before hand – the cost for issuing a boarding pass is going up from £40 to £60 – a massive 50% hike in fee
2) Avoid taking extra baggage into the hold at peak seasons – that’s going up from 20-25 for a 15kg bag and a second bag at the same weight will cost nearly twice that, from £40 to £45.
