ACCOMMODATION REVIEW |
|
The Marriott Dalmahoy Hotel & Country Club is different to most accommodation options in the Edinburgh area in that it is an actual golfing resort and this makes it an ideal alternative to the options in the city and the options to the west of Edinburgh. Its location is also very convenient for travelling to St Andrews and as such, it is a perfect destination for golfers. Situated at the foot of the Pentland Hills and overlooking a thousand acres of woodland, the Dalmahoy Hotel offers a peaceful and secluded atmosphere but is also convenient to the airport and city of Edinburgh.
The Dalmahoy Hotel first opened its doors for business in 1990 and it became the Marriott Dalmahoy in 1996. The hotel now boasts a total of 215 superb rooms and suites. Every room is en-suite and equipped with an excellent range of facilities, while the Turret Suites, with exceptional views over the golf courses, offer even more space for those seeking that additional bit of luxury. There is a choice of restaurants at Dalmahoy, each with its own character and style. The Pentland Restaurant offers a superb menu and has been awarded two AA rosettes for its cuisine, while the Long Weekend Caf Bar is a sports brasserie and is ideal for more casual dining. Of particular interest to the golfer are the on-site golf courses. And while the shorter West Course is fine for limbering up, the course for which Dalmahoy is renowned is the championship East Course. The leisure facilities available are none too shabby either and guests can enjoy a leisurely swim; relax in the sauna, steam room and spa bath; or enjoy a vigorous workout in either the cardiovascular suite or resistance gymnasium. And for those who wish to pamper themselves, there is also a full range of health and beauty treatments available. |
