ACCOMMODATION REVIEW |
|
The five-star Rufflets Country House Hotel is one of the longest established and highest quality country house hotels in Scotland and is an ideal base for golfers. And given its inherently romantic ambience, it is particularly perfect for couples. The turreted mansion house is set in ten acres of private gardens just a mile from the town and has been owned by the same family since 1952. Tastefully extended and refurbished over the years, today Rufflets more than matches the exacting standards expected from one of the finest intimate country house hotels in Scotland.
Rufflets Country House offers an excellent choice in terms of accommodation and guests can choose between the 19 individually styled guestrooms and suites in the main house or the lodge accommodation in the main grounds, ideal for families or private groups. All 24 rooms are equipped to the very highest standard and are furnished in a blend of contemporary and antique styles, creating a distinctly homely environment. Most rooms offer excellent views of the gardens, while some have four-poster or canopied beds, mini bars and whirlpool Jacuzzi baths. Renowned for its cuisine, the Garden Restaurant has been awarded 2 AA rosettes for the past six years in recognition of its high standards. Making full use of Scotland’s natural larder, the cooking is light in the modern Scottish style and the focus is on presentation and the enhancement of natural flavours. The Music Room Bar & Brasserie, with its antique fireplace and mirror as a focal point, is excellent venue for light lunches, while with a stock of over 100 different Scottish malt whiskies, it is also perfect for a tipple or two. |
